4 April 2011

Hello, hello, hello,

It was a great week. I kept my birthday a secret the whole week. And I didn't get stuck in the hospital. Well I should say it was a secret until we got to ZLC, then I found out its hard to keep secrets from the mission presidents wife who has access to that kind of information. But she made it an awesome birthday for me. We had great food and she made my favorite cookies, these really really big homemade oreos. They were great. Even though I had a cold it was good. I found out that water will drive a sickness away you just have to drink a lot. I drank probably 4 gallons that day, it was easy because all we were doing was sitting in the mission home discussing what was happening in the mission. We went straight from the mission home in Subic to Lubao where we had a meeting with the Branch Presidents. We got there and there was only one that showed up but he was one of my favorite people from Floridablanca when I was assigned there, Brother Pangan. His family is awesome!!!!

On Tuesday and Wednesday I went up to this little place called Morong and did exchanges while the District Leader and Elder Buckmiller stayed in the area. It seems that the new missionaries are getting better and better. They are quicker to understand, apply new teaching skills, better with the people (well almost all of them) We have some great missionaries that are going to make great leaders.

This week we have a leadership training down in Orani, and exchanges tomorrow, and Friday. Saturday and Sunday we get to watch GENERAL CONFERENCE. We are so excited. I can't believe how fast time flies.

Oh, and we had another member pass away this week. Brother Ceperes (pron: seperez), this was an inactive member that we were planning on doing a Family Home evening at their house last Monday but it didn't happen for some reason. It was sad because Monday night he got put in the hospital because of a ruptured blood vessel in his head. Thursday we got the news that he had passed away. We had a service there last night, Elder Buckmiller and I gave a team talk about the Plan of Salvation. It turned out alright.

Well that's about all I have to report on this week. hopefully I'll have more next week. Love you all

Elder Chase

PS future missionaries: get familiar with the events that happened in the life of the Savior and familiarize yourselves with them in the bible. Where they are, the purpose of people, (i.e. john the baptist, 12 apostles, Mary, etc.)
